A week later, I'm still thinking about this book.

Although, I do have to question the wisdom of the cover design. The sloppy writing that looks like a chalkboard? The rain cloud hovering? Seriously? It looks like a book that deals with the drama of middle school, not with intelligent teenagers with cancer discussing life and death and love.

  1. There was a big to-do about the book cover when it was first released. Most of John's fans were disappointed by it, but he loved it. This is an interesting blog post in defense of the cover by John Green's wife, Sarah Urist Green, who's also a modern art curator.

(Yeah, maybe I follow John Green news a little too closely!)

  2. I just finished this book yesterday. It's one of the first books that I've decided to start over and re-read immediately. For some reason it reminds me of "the book thief". Possibly for the superficial reason that it involves death and two teenagers trying to deal with the unfair surprises of mortal life. Anyway, I'd love to read more about your thoughts sometime....
